Born in North Carolina, Melissa Moser avoided financial matters as much as possible throughout her youth, mostly concerning herself with sports, art and language studies. After playing soccer for Davidson College and earning her B.A. in philosophy there, she moved to San Francisco, California. Fascinated with the financial world she knew nothing about, she joined an investment advisory firm in 1999. Melissa dove into learning as much as possible, becoming a certified financial planner professional, an economics student and an avid reader of financial news.
During the last ten years, Melissa has done financial planning and coaching for people with net worths ranging from well below zero to $100 million. She worked as a financial planner in the San Francisco Bay Area for an investment advisory firm, an accounting firm and a law firm. She started her own business of offering unbiased financial coaching services in 2003. Melissa envisions all people, including those “not good with numbers,” being financially educated and receiving objective information in order to make informed decisions with their money.
An engaging speaker, Melissa has given financial workshops for Fortune 500 companies as well as groups of moms trying to figure out how to pay for college. She has been profiled in Investment News and Working Woman magazines and has been sought for her expert opinion by San Francisco magazine.
